Stop me if you think you’ve heard this one before….be Mr (or Mrs or Miss) Brightside.

Stop me if you think you’ve heard this one before….be Mr (or Mrs or Miss) Brightside.

Music plays a big part of our business. We love music as a non-caffeinated way of altering the mood of our business, people and office dynamic. Sometimes you need to be lifted up, sometimes you need to be inspired and sometimes you need to dial it down.

So today’s Friday Fun are some lyrics that have great application to business and life.

So what song is it today…..??? here’s a snippet:

“I’m coming out of my cage
And I’ve been doing just fine

This is a re-post, but with Jack Riewoldt joining The Killers on stage after the AFL Grand Final last week and Richmond winning the AFL premiership after almost sacking the coach 12 months ago, it’s an appropriate time to revisit this.  In fact Richmond Football Club over the last 3 or 4 years has been an extremely interesting case study in leadership, management and personal growth culminating in the ultimate success in their industry (and I’m a Hawthorn supporter).

So Mr Brightside indeed.

I’ve been called Mr Brightside a lot and I mean A LOT in my life (and no I don’t mean alot…because that is this guy).

No matter how bad things may seem there is always someone in a worse situation than you and it pays to remember that.

Keep your chin up Charlie.

Even when things are going really badly, there is generally at least a lesson to learn or a silver lining somewhere, you just need to readjust your thinking to find it. Feeling sorry for yourself isn’t going to help your situation. Things can change quickly.

You have to think brighter.

Come out of your cage and maybe you will do just fine.

Watch the whole song below….

Happy Friday one and all!!
